Red Panda Naming Contest | Greater Vancouver Zoo

RED PANDA NAMING CONTEST!

We are inviting the public to enter our naming contest which starts on Thursday, February 16th and ends on Sunday, March 26th. We are encouraging everyone to come see them as they explore and play in their new environment and learn how to be red pandas!

There are two red panda twins that need names! One boy and one girl. As they are the only two Red Panda Cubs born in B.C. (so far!), we are hoping to keep that in mind with respect to their naming. You can submit as many times as you like but only two names will be chosen. There will be two winners.

Once the two names are decided for our Red Panda cubs, the two chosen winners will receive an exclusive grand prize pack, which includes memberships, Grizzly Gifts Prize Pack, and an exclusive behind the scenes meet and greet with the entire Red Panda family!

For this contest we will have amazing guest judges assisting the Greater Vancouver Zoo in choosing the best possible names for these West Coast Pandas! We would like to thank our guest judges Harold Munro (Chief Editor of the Vancouver Sun & The Province), Z95.3 Radio Host Vanessa as well as Greater Vancouver Zoo Deputy General Manager & Director of Animal Care Menita Prasad for helping us choose winners. Once the deadline passes for name submissions, our judges will deliberate over which names to choose! The chosen winners and names will be announced Friday, April 7th.

Our hope is this fun initiative will help connect you with our red panda family and inspire you to learn more about this incredibly unique and endangered species.

We can't wait to see what names you come up with and thank you for helping to raise awareness of the importance of red panda conservation.
