The "Adopt an Animal" program was introduced to support the Zoo's care and services for all our animals by providing food, medical care, equipment, enrichment and continual improvements to their enclosures.

"Adopt an Animal" makes a unique gift for any animal lover out that wants to help us continue taking good care of our animals, protect the endangered species and pursue on-going conservation efforts.

The adoption packages can be customized for any special occasion as well! Our animals are looking for you to be their new parent, so all you need to do is choose your animal, select the package and we'll do the rest!

Animals available for adoption are: bears, giraffes, hippopotamus, jaguars, lemurs, lions, monkeys, rhinoceros, tigers, wallabies, wolves & zebras. Other animals are also  adoptable but 2-4 weeks must be allowed to process.

The Greater Vancouver Zoo, privately operating since 1970, is home to more than 135 different animal species, many of them endangered. The Zoo offers a fascinating learning experience for children through its education programs, and its one-of-a-kind adventure in the “Night in the Wild” program. The Greater Vancouver Zoo is an attractive and unique place for the whole family to visit!

We rely entirely on admissions, special events, education fees and donations to operate. Your generous support will allow us to continue to improve the quality of life for the animals in our care, to expand enrichment and conservation initiatives; and to educate future generations of the importance of wild animals and wild places.
