07/23 ~ Children's Farmyard Opens
Greater Vancouver Zoo – PRESS RELEASE
Date: July 23, 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHILDREN’S FARMYARD OPENS
Aldergrove – The Greater Vancouver Zoo is pleased to announce the opening of the “Children’s Farmyard” this week. This new interactive area will contain a variety of domestic farm animals and will focus on educating the youth about the relationships between these animals and humans.
Currently the Children’s Farmyard opens with Nigerian Dwarf Goats, people can enter this area and are able to touch the goats and get a chance to learn a little bit more about them through their dedicated zookeeper. The goats do have a quiet area as well, where they can rest and have some time to relax between all the attention that they will be receiving from our young guests.
This fun area will be open daily 10 am – 5 pm from June 1st to Labour Day each year and on weekends in September. Our plans for future development are to add a variety of domestic animals that may include: turkeys, chickens, rabbits and eventually other species.
