Date: May 9, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

REWARD BEING OFFERED FOR KIDNAPPED MONKEY

Aldergrove – We have received an outpouring of support from our community of animal lovers and we thank you so much for all your thoughts and kindness extended. People are sending emails, letters and also wanting to provide financial support.

As of today the Greater Vancouver Zoo has set up a Reward “In Trust” fund for the information leading to the safe return of Mia, our much loved female spider monkey. In addition to the public offering donations to this cause, the Zoo has also agreed to match the reward fund up to $3,000.  You may donate to her safe return by going to any Vancity branch and making a donation to:

·    branch #23 and account # 251132

Mia is approximately 1.5 feet in height (45.7 cm) and weighs 24 lbs (11 kg), with a dark brown/black fur coat around most of her body with a golden color on her chest and stomach, long tail and beautiful steel blue eyes.

We are urging you not to try to reach out to her as we are sure she is traumatized and might react, but instead call the RCMP at 604.532.3200 or the Zoo at 604.856.6825 immediately; if you know anything all that might help us find her. All calls will be kept confidential just please contact us - we are begging you.
