You too could join the very talented bunch that we have with us called the Greater Vancouver Zoo Photography Society. We would be lost without the support of this great team of photographers and friends, so please allow us to share in their stories and how they came to join us....
 | Liandra Barry - Photo Society Coordinator Liandra fell in love with photography while working in the television and fashion industry many years ago. Being around wild and exotic animals all her life, it was only a matter of time before she got involved with the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Her love for animal photography became a true passion and her work has appeared in newspapers and brought her several photography awards.  | Davina Graham - Member Davina has enjoyed photography for most of her life. A few years ago, she accepted an early retirement opportunity, giving her time to follow her photography passion. She enjoys various areas of photography such as weddings, families, events, wildlife, nature and sports. She still manages to find some time to volunteer as a photographer at the Greater Vancouver Zoo and in animal care at the Burnaby Wildlife Rescue. Website: www.photographybydavina.ca |
 | Peter Woo - Member Peter is now retired after teaching for 33 years in Abbotsford, BC. He has been interested in photography since high school. His other interests are travelling and camping. Email: pwoo12@shaw.ca |
 | Sharon Ginn - Member Sharon's passion for photography started at the age of 12. She states that her Dad taught her almost all she knows about photography. Her interests are wildlife, her kid's sports, nature and people.

 | Peer Winter - Member Peer cannot recall when he first used a camera as he spent a good majority of his childhood in photo darkrooms. Later on, he focused his study in university on aerial and space imaging along with digital image processing. Nature and wildlife are areas of his photo interest.

Brent has spent most of his life exploring the outdoors, whether it's camping, hiking or 4 wheel driving. Most weekends Brent is out with his camera and various lenses ready for any photo opportunity that presents itself. He has been very passionate about wildlife ever since he saw a cougar leap across the road in front of his eyes at the young age of 8. Animals are the root of his love for the outdoors and Brent hopes that his photographs will inspire others in the same way that they have inspired him. |
Again the Greater Vancouver Zoo would like to thank our exceptional team of photographers who provide us with photos that we use for signs at the Zoo, advertisements and promotions of all kind. We couldn't do this without their support!
If you would like to join these people and support the Zoo, to be a member of the GVZoo Photography Society you must:
- obtain an Adult GVZoo Membership
- attend a recruitment session (only held in March and September)
- complete a volunteer form and waiver
As a member of the Zoo, not only do you receive Unlimited Admission (except Special Events), Free Parking, and Free Train Reservations; but as a member of the GVZoo Photography Society you are eligible for the following exclusive benefits:
- Photo Safaris in the North American Wilds
- Early Morning Access to the Zoo (set dates)
- Documentation of Special Zoo Events
- Annual Photography Exhibition (selection by jury)
- Possible Society Projects: Calendar, Christmas Cards etc.
- Make new photographer friends who share a love of wildlife photography
- Possibility of photography outings with the group
All meetings will be held monthly on the last Saturday of each month (unless otherwise specified).
